What is Support at Home (SaH)?

Support at Home is a new aged care program. It replaces the Home Care Package (HCP) program and is designed to:

Make home care simpler and more flexible

Better match support to your needs

Keep you living comfortably and independently at home

Help you stay living at home for longer

What are the changes from the home care package to support at home?

Funding will now be provided in quarterly budgets.

Services are grouped into three types:

Clinical care (such as nursing and allied health) – fully funded

Independence support (such as personal care and transport)

Everyday living support (such as cleaning and gardening)

Additional support options may include:

Assistive technology and home modifications (ATHM)

Restorative care after illness or injury

Extra support for end-of-life care at home

Contribution requirements

To take part in the Support at Home program, participants are asked to contribute towards the services they receive. The amount is set by the Australian Government and depends on your pension status.
